Bodegas Valdovinos is placed in the village of Antillón, in the Spanish province of Huesca., in the western part of the wine producing Somontano region., between the rivers Alcanadre and Guatizalema. We are supplied by our own 60 Hectare vineyards from the nearby boroughs of Antillón, Blecua and Bespén , some of these are more than 50 years old, while other patches have been recently planted. All of them are grown in dry, sandy soils where the average production is never over 3500 kg. of grapes per hectare for the benefit of quality rather than quantity.
The vines grow in sunbathed patches that receive an average rainfall of 550 mm, an with temperatures raging from 17° C. to 35°C. The altitude of the fields is between 500m and 600m. at sea level , which gives the most suitable growing and ripening conditions with a low humidity degree, considerable airing of the plants and very low needs of chemical treatments.
In other words, a family-run, traditional winery coming down from our forefathers with new producing techniques and varietals for a better, well cared product. |
